VIX stands for Volatility Index. VIX is the indication of expected fluctuation in the Nifty in the next 30 days.
India VIX was introduced by National Stock Exchange in the year 2008, the concept of VIX is derived from the Chicago Board Options Exchange.
Understanding the India VIX:
The value of VIX indicates the percentage of volatility in the Nifty Stocks in the next 30 days.
For an instance, if the India VIX is 20, which means the index may rally or fall 20% in the next 30 days.
Low VIX value is good for option sellers and the high VIX is good for option buyers.
